The Mission of the Church
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” -- Matthew 28: 19

Learning about our faith and putting it into practice is a life-long task! God is continually inviting us to come closer and to know Him more, and to lead others to Him!! This is one of the most important concepts we can teach our children. None of us EVER get to the point where our faith is good enough, or that we know God well enough! He always has more for us!! More love . . . . . more mercy . . . . . more blessings . . . . . more of Himself! And He desires to have a relationship with ALL of us!
As Mary Carrico Catholic School we partner with you, the parents, in teaching your children to know, love and serve God, and to become disciples themselves! This section of the website will provide you with tools we have found valuable in teaching and living the faith day in/day out. We welcome your questions and constructive comments about the resources offered here. You have direct email contact through the "Contact" page above.

Our US Bishops' website offers an online version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If you are uncertain of what the Catholic Church teaches, consult the Catechism WITH your child. It is good for them to see that we adults
don't know everything about the faith, but that we are willing to learn it WITH them. Growing in our faith is a process
that begins when we are born, and is not finished until we meet Jesus Himself in the next life. If you would like a hard copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, you can order it through the US Bishops' website, or pick one up at our local Catholic Bookstore, St. Maximilian Kolbe on 18th Street in Owensboro.
The Church assigns saints to each day of the year in order to honor them, and to give us a chance to get to know them better. This link will take you to the Franciscan Saint of the Day website. Enjoy learning and teaching your children about our brothers and sisters in Christ, the Communion of Saints!
